Skull
The part of a helmet cover­ing the top, back and the sides of the head above the ears. It can also denote a simple metal cap.
Ventail
An integral flap of mail attached to the coif in the thirteenth century; it could be drawn across the mouth to protect the lower face.
Epaule de mouton
Steel defense for the complete arm; developed during the 15th and 16th centuries; used exclusively in jousts.
