Boss
Also umbo. The round shaped piece of metal at the center of a shield. Protects the hand.
Couter
Also spelt cowter. Plate armor protecting the elbow.
Mace
Metal ball attached to a wooden handle. All steel in the later times. Often a symbol of power.
Tip
The pointed end of a sword’s blade. Most swords taper towards the tip, but some are straight until the very tip.
