- Cod-piece
- Fabric covering for the groin, latterly padded. Its counterpart in armour could be either of mail or, more usually, of plate.

- Armor protecting thighs.
- Targe
- Small, more flat wooden shield covered with leather or metal-trimmed, later all- steel.

- Forward-curving single-edged sword.
