Coif
Hood of fabric or mail worn under a helmet. By the twelfth century it often incor­porated a ventail.
Edge
The sharp, cutting part of a blade. Swords are single or double-edged.
Riser
Opposite of a fuller. Makes a sword more rigid yet with a flixible spine.
Arnis
Italian for "harness", the historical term for being "in armour".
