- Two-handed broadsword from the 16th century used by the Scotch Highlanders against Englishmen.

- Special (Renaissance) term for the upper, weaker part of a blade. Does most of the attacking for its speed and nimbleness.

- Small, more flat wooden shield covered with leather or metal-trimmed, later all- steel.
