- Heavy coat from buff-leather worn alone for light protection or under
armor.
- Lance rest
- A support for the
lance when couched; this was bolted to the right side of the breastplate and was often hinged.

shield covered with leather or metal-trimmed, later all-
steel.

- Wooden Roman throwing stick with a spiked head; attached to user's arm
