A flat plate of leather or parchment (square, round or diamond-shaped) which tied to the point of the shoulder. Worn between 1250-1350 to display the owner's coat-of-arms.

- Flammards
- Also flambards. Two-handed swords with a certain wave or with a flamed blade.
- Lucerne hammer
- A staff weapon with a hammer-head balanced by a fluke, popular with Swiss infantry in both the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries.
- Rerebrace
- Armor protecting the upper arm.
- Ox mace
- Mace made of metal; head was shaped like that of an ox's and often had holes in the nostrils so that it whistled when swung.
