- Grip
- The handle of a sword. Mostly made of wire, leather, wood, ivory, bone or horn. Also a method of holding a sword.
- Mace
- Metal ball attached to a wooden handle. All steel in the later times. Often a symbol of power.

- Military dagger with a single- edged or triangular blade. Pommel and hand-guard formed of roundels.
