Encyclopedia of historical weapons - Flamberge

Special type of rapier with a waved blade. Used mostly by officers and uper class. Effective in parrying when it slows down the enemy’s sword and creates and annoying vibrations in the blade.

Byrnie: Mail shirt with elbow-length sleeves, ends in the middle of the beholder’s thighs.

Cuisse: Armor protecting thighs.

Spaudler: A light laminated defence protecting the point of the shoulder and top of the arm, especially popular in Germany.
